Cleveland VOTES team members Gloria Craig, Erika Anthony, and Jerry Pena

On September 27th, the Council on American-Islamic Relations Cleveland (CAIR) hosted its annual fall banquet. Organizations, businesses, and individuals gathered together for a night of gratitude, reflection, and community responsibility. Attendees heard from speakers like Executive Director Faten Odeh, who highlighted the urgency for those present to stand up for their community. Additionally, attendees heard from Dr. Suleiman Hani and Dr. Altaf Husain, who both discussed what it means to show up for your community, even if you yourself are struggling. The night ended with community awards, and Cleveland VOTES was one of the recipients. We were recognized for our work in democracy building and GOTV efforts, leading us to receive the I-CAIR Social Justice Award.
