EQUITABLE CIVIC
ENGAGEMENT
Equitable Civic Engagement and democracy-building can mobilize and build movements beyond our imagination. Here are the action steps we have taken to move towards a more equitable and democratic community.
OUR COMMITMENT:
-
Shifting power and agency to historically disenfranchised or marginalized communities.
-
Advancing non-partisan, equitable civic engagement in Cleveland.
-
Increasing the capacity of local non-profits to participate in democracy-building activities.
-
Providing education, training, resources and technical assistance for local non-profit organizations.
-
Convening conversations and providing tools to build internal capacity for voter mobilization efforts.
EQUITABLE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT FUND
Advancing Equitable Civic Engagement is about bridging resources, identities, and organizations to a greater purpose of reclaiming our narrative. The purpose of the Equitable Civic Engagement Fund is to provide grants to nonprofit organizations committed to educating, connecting and empowering voting-age residents in the Greater Cleveland area. We seek organizations that are committed to democracy building, racial equity and participatory practices. Ultimately, we seek to shift power while catalyzing innovation and inclusive strategies to strengthen the social fabric of our community.
