On October 17, Cleveland VOTES team members were featured in an episode of the special MS NOW series The Deciding Vote. In the episode (Why some Black voters in Ohio STOPPED believing their vote MATTERS), host Eugene Daniels speaks with voting advocates and Black residents to get a better sense of why Black non voters aren't making it to the polls. Daniels shadows the Cleveland VOTES' Vote Squad as they try to engage people in the Cleveland Central Neighborhood, which currently has the lowest voter turnout. Cleveland VOTES Executive Director Erika Anthony and Senior Cultural Strategist Jerry Peña share their experience and insight into motivating non voters, emphasizing the importance of building relationships first.
