"Accessibility and the Ballot" explores the experiences of voters with disabilities, the barriers they face, and the steps we can all take as community members, voters, and election officials to ensure that voting is truly accessible for everyone. The documentary (filmed in 2025) is part of our Voting in the Land short documentary series, which share the challenges and triumphs of voting in Cleveland. It features interviews with Elizabeth Brassell, Saphire Murphy, Timothy Skaggs, Ebony Spano, and Sherri Green. It was made in partnership with Hands That Speak Volumes, Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center, and Linking Employment and Abilities (LEAP).
This is the second film festival that the documentary has been chosen to be part of. It was also screened during the 2026 Short. Sweet. Film Fest. where it won an Audience Choice Award.
