On May 8, 2026, Cleveland Public Library (CPL) announced that Cleveland VOTES (CV) Executive Director Erika Anthony and CV Board of Directors Liaison Crystal Bryant were selected to be honored in their Cleveland 230 list, which is part of their One Cleveland Campaign. The CPL has chosen to highlight 230 Clevelanders (from the past and present) in honor of the city’s 230th anniversary since its founding.
One Cleveland is a citywide civic pride campaign celebrating what connects Clevelanders. The Cleveland 230 recognizes 230 people, past and present, whose leadership, creativity, service, and impact reflect Cleveland’s history and diversity. Selections were made through a community nomination process and two rounds of review based on impact, connection to Cleveland, and alignment with the One Cleveland vision to create a better Cleveland.
The CPL chose Anthony and Bryant to be part of the 230 list for their commitment to equitable civic engagement during their tenure at Cleveland VOTES as well as their other leadership roles in Cleveland. Anthony and Bryant co-founded Cleveland VOTES together in 2014 to fill the voter registration void for individuals who are incarcerated and re-entering society. Since then, they have helped CV expand its community offerings, including a microgrant program, leadership development programs, annual civic holiday celebrations, and more.
One Cleveland officially launched on May 15 after a kickoff breakfast with community partners and leaders. For the rest of 2026, One Cleveland will be a multi-faceted celebration that will include a digital campaign, community events, and programs. Each week starting Friday, May 15, 2026, they will feature a group from the Cleveland 230 on the One Cleveland website, social media pages, and other channels. Anthony and Bryant’s profiles will soon be available on the Cleveland 230 webpage. One Cleveland events can be found on the Downtown Cleveland, Inc. website.
